— Louis D. Brandeis
Brandeis was appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson.

Brandeis’ life story, especially his legal career, is a compelling read. Here are some good sites: Wikipedia, Brandeis University, NPR, “Revisiting The Tenure Of Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, The 'Jewish Jefferson.’”
If we would guide by the light of reason we must let our minds be bold.
